Controlled burns on Mt Stuart

I was driving home the other day and I could see smoke rolling across the hills behind our house. I thought it would produce some interesting photos once it got dark and I was correct.

In Australia, controlled burns are conducted regularly to burn off undergrowth and decrease the danger of bushfires in summer. These burns are conducted in the colder months to allow the firefighters to control them more easily but I was surprised at how windy it was that night. As you can see these controlled burns do produce some dramatic results.
